I got a text Sunday morning from one of my BFF's saying they were having a dinner. So I texted her back asking what I could bring - she said dessert and since Shalom wanted to make a cake, I thought perfect. So here it is - via Shalom.
This is Shalom - she is 8
I am an avid follower of Bakerilla so this is sort of our tribute to her. Not that I could hold a candle to her! Our ingredients are one chocolate box cake mix. I did not have time to make one from scratch, remember, I just got the text this morning. One pack of mini chocolate chips, Heath toffee bits, whipped topping, fudge and caramel ice cream topping and one 13X9 inch pan.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Add in the water and oil according to the directions to the box.
Next she added the eggs. She is so excited to be in the kitchen! She is REALLY focusing!

When she was younger she used to say "Mixa, mixa, mixa".

Next she added 1/2 cup of mini chocolate chips, but only after eating some!
Posing with the chips, she is such a poser!
In goes the mini chippies!
Next she sprays the pan, so the cake will not stick - She had help doing this.
Introducing - Reece Johnson!
He really wanted to help! He's only 2. He is 1/2 of a whole.
Yep! He's a twin! He was awake when we she was making the cake.
Here is cake in the oven.
Here is the cake out of the oven! Just like TV magic. However you do need to bake the cake for 35 minutes or until a cake tester or toothpick when inserted comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool for 15 minutes.
Next take a meat fork and polk hole in the cake - Why you ask? Just wait and see . . .
Ta da! You will need to warm both of these in the microwave for 30 seconds each.
Still wondering what to do with these?

You are going to pour the caramel topping all over the cake .
Make sure it sinks down into the holes. But wait there's more!
The chocolate goes on next, can you stand it! OMG the cake is sooooooo delicious.
Once your get both topping on the cake set it in the refrigerator until chilled.

Once the cake has chilled you are going to take your whipped topping and frost the cake!
This was very hard for Shalom - She loves this stuff!

Next take about 1/3 cup of mini chips and 1/3 cup of Heath toffee chips
and get ready to have some fun!
Again, she had a helper!

Introducing - Frownie Brownie! Just kidding!
This is Naomi but we call her Missy. This is Reece's other half.
With the help of her daddy - who requested not to be on camera.
He's an engineer who is getting a Masters in Finance! Oh what fun we have! LOL
She could not wait to eat the whipped topping!

And the finished product looks like this

Stay tuned to the next project.
